-Bach's parents died when he was 10 years old. He went to live with his oldest brother,
Christoph, who taught him to play the harpsichord and organ.
-At age 18 Bach became organist at Arnstadt and began composing.
-At age 22 he moved to Muhlhausen and married Maria Barbara, they had 7 children.
-Bach was appointed court organist and violinist to the Duke of Weimar, he stayed there 9 years.
-In 1717 he accepted the post of master of music to Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cothen.
-Bach's wife Maria died in 1720, in 1721 he married Anna Magdalena and had 13 more children.
-Bach taught many of his 20 children to play musical instruments.
