On Monday, November 4th, all of the Lower School students who are currently in the ensemble classes of band, chorus, and orchestra will be invited to Ocean County
College in Toms River to see the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra at
the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts. This concert will feature
the works written by Mozart during the last ten years of his life
including the recognizable melodies and themes of
The Marriage of Figaro Overture, Horn Concerto No. 3, Eb Major, and
Symphony No. 39. The students will have an up close encounter with the instruments of the orchestra as the Philharmonic features the French Horn as well as the Violin in this performance (
Horn Concerto No. 3 and
Rondo for Violin & Orchestra). Ensemble students will discuss and practice propper audience etiquette as well as other aspects of ensemble performance prior to the trip. Look for the permission slip to sign in My Ranney. We will leave Ranney School at 9:00 am and return at 11:30 am; the students should be in their school uniform. Chaperones will include the Ranney Performing Arts faculty, Classroom Teachers and the School Nurse. We are looking forward to this special performance!
