 -Williams studied composition at UCLA, after serving in the Air Force he

  returned to NYC to study piano at the Julliard School of Music.

 -John Williams has received 45 Academy Award nominations, has 5 

  Oscar awards, 21 Grammy awards, and 4 Golden Globe awards.

 -He was named the 19th conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra 

  in 1980, retiring in 1993.

 -Williams composed the themes for the NBC News and the Summer

  Olympic Games (1984, 1988, 1996).
